I'm 30 miles west of Boston. Red prefered. Thanks in advance
Moved to the proper section.
If you were to find a source, for the 2nd gen wagon rear bumpers, lots of the members on the site would be glad to learn of it. But tell me first!!
The 3rd gen wagon bumpers are close to the 2nd gen, and can be used, with the addition of some hardware to secure the front end of the side 'wings' to the body.
I have three wagons, each of which has some rear bumper damage. I had a 4th wagon whose original rear bumper was entirely missing. So I made one up... sort of... using a hatchback rear bumper. I had to modify the mounting studs (they are half an inch longer for the wagons versus the hatchbacks and sedan), and had to slice away part of the upper surface for the bottom edge of the 'gate' to swing by. (Using a variable speed jig saw). Its not perfect, but was better than having the bumper missing entirely, or replaced by a chunk of 2 x 8 wood.
2nd gen wagons with intact rear bumpers are fairly regular out here but the shipping costs would be prohibitive.
My guess would be a bumper from Cali to the East coast would probably run around $150+ just for shipping along with the cost of properly crating it so it arrives intact and the actual bumper cost itself.
Like I said, I see clean ones all the time. In fact, just yesterday I was at the yard yanking some RDB's for someone and there were two 2nd gen wagons. One silver and one navy blue with intact rear bumpers.
If you're OK with the cost I can pull as many as you need.
Maybe I should come out to CA some time. I have a brother-in-law and a nephew in Long Beach.
Bring a truck. Between all the yards around here I bet you coukld find 20 good rear bumpers pretty easily.
