Just recently my Escort has been cutting off when in idle. I replaced the fuel filter and did a couple check ups everywhere else (my car maintanence knowledge is beginner level at best), but it continues. Then I came upon an unplugged connection.

The car will start but soon dies a couple seconds after. My question is if anyone has any clue where this cable connects to. I have the Haynes manual but I can't seem to locate where the cable connects.

Sorry for the shotty pictures, I'm parked in a dark garage and it was with my phone camera.

The cable is located on the firewall, left of the battery, and directly above the fuel filter.

that goes in under the intake, there are two right next to each other. find the second one and plug that one in right next to it.

If that were my 1995LX, I would guess that's it's a vacuum like that goes to the EVAP purge solenoid.
