I need to reattach my side skirt (plastic molding) to my escort. Does anyone know where to purchase the piece of metal that runs the whole length of the side of the car? Ford no longer cares it.

Like almost everything cosmetic you will have to go to a junk yard and nab one off someone elses ride.

I would like to, but the problem here in the northeast these cars rust and the ones I have found are junk, that is why I am looking for a new one or aftermarket one.

The side skirts have no metal and the side molding do have a metal strip, it can be removed and molding can be adhered in place. I believe the shop that painted my car did that.

Clean up the area and take some doublesided tape and some silicone and put a little bead of silicone with the doublesided tape and you'll have no problems.
