Just looking for some watch outs or easy of swap info. I already know there is a plethora of other options.

I have both cars. Complete and running.
1995 Tracer 1.9 manual
1996 Tracer 1.8 Auto

However, my daughter loves her car and the 1.8 is getting real tired and she wants the 5 speed. And the old 1.9 car is looking real rough but the engine is real strong.

So, what exactly do I need to swap over. Any help and heads up appreciated.

I am above an above average driveway mechanic with just about any tool I will need.

Persistence mostly I would say, and taking lots of pictures with a digital camera. I found it worked well to pull the driver's seat out, so I could lie on my back and work on the clutch pedal and to reach the upper nut (inside the car) to mount the clutch master cylinder.

Be aware that it's Federally illegal to swap an OBDI drivetrain (95') into an OBDII car (96') and it won't pass inspection in any place that does an OBDII plugin as part of inspection.
