Hi My name is Ken and I'm new here.
As my title says, I have a 93 wagon that I'm starting to play with.
So far, I replaced the blown 1.9 engine with a used 94 1.9 which at this point is stock except for a K & N filter and a cat back exhaust (2-1/2" pipe). Interior is stock except I found some good condition Escort Sport leather buckets.
I have a 5 speed manual (a blast) some Tracer Sport Aluminium 15" rims and 60 series tires on this car. It is a blast to drive and haul kids/gear around in.
I would be intersted in learning how I can bump up the hp to around the 125-150hp range without getting crazy on the price. I enjoy that the car gets about 32 mpg.
Also, learning where I can get a new headliner and stiffening up the suspension a bit.

It's too bad you didn't log on here before you replaced the motor. Folks would have said to drop in a 2.0 SPI for the kind of HP you are looking for - stock.

Engine Mods

Thanks for the info.
The engine blew 5 hours south of me and the car sat for 8 months. I didn;t do the engine swap myself because of the distance.
I have read some about porting the heads of the 94, anyone experience this?
I think I'm gonna start with air flow, change out the sperk coil, wires and plugs, someone gave me a hoodf scoop from a mid 70's cobra mustang and with a little work, I think I can make it look good and gain some fresh air under the hood.
Ideas where to pick up good quality parts?
