His is an LX.... I'm 99.99% certain he has the CFI, which uses an identical head as the 2nd gen SEFI. The front engine mount would be a little different, but the engine parts will bolt right on without problems. He would also have to make a blockoff plate for the EDIS pickup. This is a completely possible swap, with minimal headaches.
Basically: swap the intake to the 1st gen CFI, swap the exhaust manifold and EGR system, create a front mount (unless you can modify the stock one), cover the EDIS pickup hole, remove the freeze plug at the rear of the head and install the distro, and install the ancillary devices.
