So i've replaced my battery once now (about a year ago) and this is my third alternator now. I had thought that because the previous one was refurbished that it was just bad, but it's clear that there is some sort of wiring issue i'm unaware of. Anyone know what that could be?

It's more likely to be a crappy rebuilt unit that sucks. Consider yourself lucky of a rebuilt alternator lasts more then 30 seconds.

Also add a voltmeter, even if it's just s type that plugs into the lighter outlet. You need to know what's going on.

I am assuming that you aren't using those cheap $50 Walmart car batteries.
