I have 205/40ZRs on my 17" rims and the offset is 38 or 42...? It is a proper plus size for an escort. Mine is lowered 1.8". If you want to go with 17s or 18s, I rec. "rolling" the rear lip for tire clearance and peace of mind. I can easily get a finger width between when at rest; considering spacing a little wider. If you were to go with the 18s, I believe a set of 205 or 215/35R18 will fit with a proper offset. Are you still at stock height or plan on lowering?

I agree with Dave, the rims are the easiest way to give a car a completely different look. I got my rims used for a good price and ever since they have been on, I have loved them.
Yes, there are others out there that will put $8000 worth of rims on a $800 car. I agree that is a waste of money. Unfortunately, those are the people that are on some kind of financial aid, selling drugs, stealing, etc. Yes I am generalizing, but it seems all too common that those with such habits just take more from society than they contribute. I have little patience for "those". They tend to drive slow because odds are they are carrying, have no license, and no insurance.

8" might be too wide. Offset seems close, I am 38-42, but forget for sure. Mine are 7" wide.
