ok i know everyone has thought of this and prolly has done this but id like to know what i need to change. i currently have a 1.9l h.o. in a 1989 egt. and i want to put in the 1.8 or the z tech and was wandering if i needa replace the trans too and what else if any do i needa replace?

if you take your 1.9 out and put in a 1.8 you´d need to put in the tranny for the 1.8 as well, the 1.9 doesn´t rev as much as the 1.8, same goes for the 2.0. It´d probably be easier to find an EGT with a 1.8 in it already, but if you love your car. go for the swap.
