For sale is a 1.9 engine that I pulled from my 96 wagon after my sister got t-boned. I bought my escort when it had 144000km on the clock. It needed an engine after it dropped the #4 valve seat. I put a used engine in it that had 160000km on it. I drove it for 20000km before this engine dropped the same valve seat. (It was an original head I should've known better) This time I sent the head out to be rebuilt over at Astro Automotive Machine in the Weston/Steeles area where they put better valve seats in it. Inspected the block and all was good. No scratches on any of the cylinder walls. The body on my escort was exceptionally clean so I could justify doing all this work to it. I put everything back together and put the motor back in. I drove it for 4 months before lending it to my sister where she got t-boned by some sh*thead who ran a red light. Needless to say my car was totaled. I pulled the engine and transmission out. Just felt bad letting a perfectly good drivetrain (practically brand new engine) go to the wreckers. The rebuilt engine has 9000km. If I can't sell this engine within the next little while I'll be donating it to the automotive program at Centennial college where the students can learn something with it. It's been sitting in my garage for 2 years now since the accident happened. My plan was to find another clean escort but anyone who lives in Ontario knows clean escorts are almost non-existant here. I'm asking $350 for the engine and transmission together. Engine ran amazing when it was last in the car. This is an eec5 engine used only in 1996 so if you're intending to use it in a 91-95, you're going to have to switch some small things on it. (I think 91-95 had a different EGR setup) etc. Transmission shifted flawlessly as well. Has the original 177000km on it. Aside from these, I've got a bunch of other stuff for the car. Power window and lock components, headlights, tail lights, yellow cornering lamps, a green grill (non gt), steering wheel clock spring, a set of front rotors and pads used for 1 month, leather steering wheel, two catalytic converters (91-95 and 96), EDIS modules for 91-95, two 14 inch aluminum wheels with bridgestone all-season tires, and many, many other things. Feel free to message me or respond to this thread if you're curious whether I have the part you need. Chances are I have it. Make me an offer. I can't hold on to these parts forever my garage is full.
