This car was my old daily driver from years ago. Has some rot by the strut mounts so it wont pass inspection again. It still runs great. Our local track is 1/2 mile on asphalt, dominated mostly by cavaliers and vtec hondas. Can anything be done with the 1.9/slushbox combo to make it competitive. I *think* it's an lx... But with the sportier options, 2 door, spoiler,etc so I will at least keep the body and look for a gt for parts if needed.


This is a "stock" class so a lot of rule bending is needed...lol. I do have a few parts mazdas but they are unfortunately dohc and we cant run those. Any suggestions? Also, suggestions on good tires that are umder $70/ea? I dont currently have a copy of the rules....

You could slip in a 2.0L SPI and use the 1.9 valve cover.

Are you allowed to swap transmissions?

I'm sure I could, so long as it "looks" stock. Ive never seen them tech transmissioms. Is there anything I can do with the suspension?

Oh, and how do you get stagger? This is my first time with fwd, is it different than rwd?
