I got a hold of a 99 ZX2 with a blown tranny and the engine has 150,000 miles. I can't find too many used motor and trans with lower miles on ebay. I keep reading that the 99 or lower can't just hook up and work together. So I thought using a 00+ motor and trans would be a better idea. What would I need to do in order for everything to work correctly?

I'm curious as to why they say it won't work. I always thought that it didn't matter.

I always thought that the difference between the 98-99's and the 00+ engines were in the timing system...

^You're right, but besides that I don't know of anything else that would make it incapable of swapping.
