Im at my wits end here. There car still vibrates. Even worse when i put it in gear (foot on the brake).

Here is a youtube vid of it
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugHj_ViP5gI

    I have done the following.

    1. Replaced every motor mount.
    2. Replaced the wires, the plugs were clean
    3. Did a vacuum test, check out good.
    4. Did a compression test, all were in range.
    5. Cleaned the piss out of the Idle Air Control Valve.

but there is no muffler on it right now. Could it be resonating and cause the motor to vibrate?

    Please help

    Wellllll...that does seem a bit excessive! 8O

Did you replace the motor mounts with urethane mounts?
If so, that is part of the problem.
If not, about the only things I can think of that will cause that kind of vibration is a torque converter that is out of balance (they have been known to shed a weight) or a bent crank.

I highly doubt you have a bent crank. ;)

Im going to check and retighten the motor mounts tomorrow.

    I think it could be.

    1. Bad Harmonic balancer.
    2. No muffler
    3. Timing belt was replaced and was put on with it being off a notch.

Yeah if the damper pulley is bad, she'll dance. (could be why they put it on there in the first place)

If your timing is off, that will throw things out of wack, as well.

Anything else you forgot to mention? Have a dead cat stuffed in the intake? Bag of marbles in the oil pan? :?

    No lol.

Its the timing belt part of the harmonic balancer.

Can the harmonic balancer go bad at 136,000?

your video says that you haven't replaced the crossmember yet. 2 of the mounts are mounted to that crossmember, so if you haven't fixed it yet, then those 2 mounts cannot possibly do their job.

Replace or fix the crossmember, and it should fix your problem.

see the funny thing is it didnt vibrate when the crossmember was taken out. so something in the engine is vibrating, bolting the crossmemeber back up transfered more of it into the body.

    awnser me this.

    1. could having no muffler shake the engine from resonation?
    2. Would a bad harmonic balancer show up more at low rpm?

I had the same problem with the whole car shaking especially when it was in drive at a traffic light. I realized one of the bolts on my upper rad mount was missing and replaced it. It went away. Worth a shot? I think so. The engine is connected to the radiator via two hoses and cooler lines(auto). If the engine vibrates, the radiator vibrates. The radiator mounts are connected to the body, bad or loose radiator mounts will cause the whole car to vibrate. A worn harmonic balancer could cause vibration at idle but should increase as the rpms increase. You mine as well start with the cheap stuff that requires less labor.

OK, but the car shakes at idle correct? You clean the IAC, but refuse to change the radiator mounts? You say you changed the motor mounts but technically you missed 4 of them. You see where it says "These loads are transferred through the engine and body"? Maybe you just need a new air filter.

The air filter was a joke. I would at least take yours out and inspect them. I would call Ford and see if they still have them, if not try to find some good ones at a JY if you think they need to be replaced.

Just check the condition of the rubber, if you can locate them I'd just replace them anyways.

Needlessly replaced my clutch disc and at the same time thought it would be a good idea to replace the flywheel. WRONG (again)

The flywheel I got from a Smyth Autoparts (Parts+ dealer) was WWAAYY out of balance. Shook the whole engine from the transmission side. Luckily I was able to get my original flywheel back.

Fortunately or unfortunately, however you see it, this doesn't seem like your problem either. But maybe there's a chance you haven't mentioned something.
