    1999 wagon, 90K miles. I'm calling it a repost because I
asked a similar question about a year ago, but got side-
tracked and never had a chance to wrench on the
    problem.

The rear windows almost always work from the rear seats--
but not always. Neither of them work from the driver's
master control console. Has anyone else fixed this type
    of failure?

Where can I find a wiring diagram, and, more importantly,
where can I find the wire routings for this circuit?

    Thanks. Regards.

It could be a bad master switch. I had a similar issue before with a vehicle at work and a new master switch fixed it

The Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual, the EVTM, has 99% of the wiring diagrams for our Escorts. I just did an ebay search for "1999 Escort EVTM", and one is for sale for under $6 + $4.50 for shipping. Better would be to buy the set of the EVTM and the Escort Service Manual. Be sure to buy the EVTM that is for your year of Escort. They changed from year to year, while the service manuals tended to remain the same.

Sometimes master switches can be repaired. If you are sure that it is the master switch and are going to replace it anyway, if it can be carefully disassembled, cleaned, and put back in services. Now if contacts are burnt to the point where stuff is missing from them, than that's usually beyond what most people can fix.

Five months after Gamer92's reply, and that was exactly it: corrosion on the master switch's contact faces for both back windows. This YouTube video, although really poor quality, is the basis of the repair.

All eight contact points were cleaned, and now all for windows work from the driver's panel.
