    1993 escort 1.9=got no fuel pressure, no spark as well- replaced coil pack { a mechanic told me that possibly coil pack goes out and that willl then possibly shut down the fuel pump. no dice}

    fuel cutoff switch- in back- is fine. I have no spark, no fuel, next thing the mechanic wants to know is where are all the relays located? they are not labeled. I wish I had a shop manual for this thing. a chiltons may be a start...

    Well it's nice you found this forum by reading and searching you will learn a lot about keeping it running.

    For starters any electrical part can be checked by your local auto part store. So you may have wasted bucks on yor new coil. Remove your EDIS and get thet checked. Normally free.

    I am no swammie but two problems are too coincidental. Check your fuses and links. Yea you need a manual ASAP. My Karnak senses an ignition switch.

    Your troubleshooting is going to required Knowledge, Observation and a Plan.

    Use the manual for testing your fuel pump.

    For spark you have plugs wires coil edis switch fuses. also two sensors
    one for the cam one for the crank. When I changed the sensors I finally got spark( only thing left unchecked). I needed to replace the intake gasket to get a sensor out. I found a water leak . Now it runs great. Search the forum an see if you can find a test for the sensors and check them intalled with a meter .

    Hope this helps.

    the ignition switch was brought up on another forum, intriguing, the sensors are new to me but intriguing, the relay location was brought up on another thread here- possibly.

    There is a fuel pump relay it has a black/pink,2 (white/dark green),light green wires. Look for the wires and you will find it. I don't know the exact location. Did you try running the pump through the diagnostic plug?
    I gave up on Clinton's because they had no wiring diagrams Haynes has worked for me.

    just got a haynes today, that book does show fuel pump relay under the dash, under the radio.

    I do not know how to run the fuel pump through the diag. plug. no spark, no fuel at the same time, methinks it may be ignition switch but we shall see....

    Test fuel pump

    Haynes chapter 4 para. 5 under page 4-4. Just ground it out and it should run.

    ok, car is running. it did have fuel pump pressure after all , had no pulse at the injectors and no spark. the guy found a fuse under the dash that was a 10 where a 30 goes, and one fuse missing. replaced those, and it runs. car is loud - will need exhaust work for sure, sounds like up front near manifold probably. car also needs a radiator.

    this car came from an auction. it is entirely possible somebody pulled the fuse under the dash so it would not run so as to get a cheaper bid. and, the fuse box cover is gone with all the fuse diagrams, this person could have hid that somewhere. $250 for this car -price is not sounding so bad
    now that it runs.
