I have a 97 wagon and am attempting to swap a zx2 setup. This is my first escort with abs. How is the abs controlled? How would I retain it with a zx2 swap?

I think the brakes are completely separate from the engine harness. If or when I do the swap in my 99 sedan I'll run into the same issue, since it has functional ABS.

In my opinion ABS on such a light car is kind of futile.

It's a wagon so it may have 600lbs of people, baby, car seat, and luggage. Plus the wife wants to drive it and we get snow once every 10 years lol.

But I agree 100%, personally. My 4 door 5 speed on 205s stopped on a dime. My 2 door 5 speed on 185s has never locked up on me. I don't see the need much in a car under 3000lbs. Especially a 5 speed. Downshifting under hard braking can set off ABS for no reason.
