1.9/SPI hybrid

    Ok, the 1.9/SPI head hybrid is officially in motion. Anybody done this swap? I'm a little worried about it being a complete dog off boost and shitty milage. But I also feel a lot safer with a home brew turbo kit with that low of comp, only "tuning" will be a FMU, and MAYBE 24# injectors. I've even hard of using a 5th injector to come on with boost but have no idea how to wire that up

    Yeah I've done the swap.
    As long as you run a reasonable Turbo it won't be that bad off boost.
    Milage seems just fine. But I don't drive it enough each year to even burn up a half tank.

    What turbo/boost you running? Still deciding if a boosted Escort would be viable as a daily

    I drove my 96lx 2.0 SPI Turbo dsm/t25 daily for quite a while. Low boost stock compression.

    Hmmm. Right now my parts I have are; VJ17 from a t-bird, banhoff 6 puck clutch, 1.8 vw intercooler and piping and a eBay fmu. I think my main worry other than killing fuel pumps is the trans, namely the plastic diff.. Been thinking just a 50 wet shot would be enough for the times I want to go "fast" and leave the turbo stuff for my 89 sentra. Dunno
