I use seafoam-- but I go the opposite order...

First, I do the tank, then change the fuel filter-- THEN I seafoam the injectors..

No sense in cleaning the injectors, then knocking crap loose in the rest of the fuel system-- was my logic..... Cleaning the injectors after putting on a clean fuel filter just made more sense..

Dead post, sure, but thought I'd add my .02....

I use both Seafoam and synth blend and have been for the last 20k or so. Do I leak more than when I started? Sure, but I can't prove it was either one of those that did it. How many people haven't replaced a dizzy seal or rear main at this high of milage? (160k now) Plus, it's good for finding exhaust leaks. If you're smoking as much out of the front as the rear, you know there's a problem. I have to seafoam mine tomorrow again to make sure that the exhaust shop got everything tightened down right. Plus I need an oil change anyways so I'll have a use for the other half of the can. I don't do the tank every time just because I don't want to replace the fuel filter every time due to cost. (Yet I replace my spark plugs 4 times a year...lol)

Just wanna add that my moms tracer (101K on the clock) worked AWESOME with the spray bottle of sea foam it idled like monkeys throw **** (randomly screaming and surging, especally undermload) and even threw a CEL. Mechanics estimate to fix the car was more than $200.

1/3rd of a can of spray seafoam into the throttle body while thec ar was off and hot on two sepertate occasions cleared it up GREATLY. If 100% is idling like new and 0% is not able to idle, it went from an 18% to a 80% with 2/3 of a $6 can. After spraying it the CEL went off, and I cleared all codes with my SCT Tuner, and the codes didnt come back.

BTW the car didn't smoke like everyone mentions either.

I just did it to my 99 lx with 107k miles on it, no troubles at all. I'm really not sure if I used enough seafoam though. I got some thick smoke.. but I've seen some beaters taking off from redlights pouring out just as much. I really didn't notice much difference in performance either, though it MIGHT be idling a little smoother, not that noticable though. With what frequency could I use this stuff though? I want to do it again and make sure I get enough in the system this time, but I also want to make sure it won't do any damage first. lol

puting it in the intake shouldn't do anything harmful... and same with oil and gas if you make sure u dont use tomuch and change the oil soon after adding it

Would the vacuum hose on the bottom of the throttle body work? Or what would be the optimum vacuum hose to use, and what is its location?

any vacuum hose to the intake manifold is good... if you have any vacuum inputs to the manifold that are plugged off, it's even better! just get a length of hose, plug it in there, and suck up the seafoam! when you're done, remove the hose, plug the port back up and go! Smile

if u were to add some seafoam to ur oil, how many miles would u have to wait to change the oil?

also, could somebody plzz say how much seafoam u are supposed to put on the oil and gas tank? i know its half a bottle for the engine. thanks

also, does it really make a huge cloud of smoke like everybody says?

It's supposed to be 1/3rd can in the engine, 1/3rd in the gas, and 1/3rd in the oil.

I dont do the oil, so i just do half in the engine and half in the gas.

Some people say they arent getting alot of smoke. When you are doing the engine, at the end you are suppoed to let the engine suck in enough so that it stalls. This is important. Also you then wait 5 minutes before restarting. Not 3 minutes, not 10 minutes, 5 minutes then restart your engine.
